Superintendent Virgin Robinson III is the Founder and Senior Pastor of New Covenant Ministries COGIC, Jacksonville, NC and Word of Life Deliverance Ministries COGIC in Kinston, NC.
The first service of New Covenant Ministries COGIC began with seven members. The church is currently made up of believers from all walks of life working together in the spirit of oneness. The Lord has blessed this ministry to have programs that reach the community and teach mankind about the goodness of Jesus.
In 1996 Bishop LeRoy J. Woolard, Prelate of the Greater North Carolina Jurisdiction, appointed Superintendent Robinson as the District Superintendent of the Greater Jacksonville District. Superintendent Robinson also serves as a National Adjutant, State Chief Adjutant and as Personal Adjutant to Bishop Woolard.
Superintendent Robinson received his formal education in the public schools of Durham County. He graduated from Family Bible College with a Bachelor of Theology and Slidell Seminary with a Doctorate of Divinity and Theology. He spent twenty-two years serving his country in the United States Marine Corps retiring in 1991 to work full time in the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Superintendent Robinson accepted the Lord as his personal Savior in March 1976 at Friendly Church of God In Christ in Oceanside, California, where Superintendent T. E. Hammonds is the Pastor. Superintendent Robinson entered the ministry in 1979 at Stephen Temple Church of God In Christ in Mount Clemens, Michigan under the leadership of the late Superintendent B. T. Stephen. He was an Associate Minister at Stephen Temple COGIC from 1979 until 1982. While at Stephen Temple, Superintendent Robinson served as President of the Brotherhood, President and Teacher of the YPWW, Assistant Superintendent and Teacher of the Sunday School Department.
Superintendent Robinson is one of five children born to Virgin Jr. and the late Rachel Robinson of Durham, North Carolina. He met and married Miss Theresa Fields of St. Helena Island, South Carolina. They have two children, son Kevin and daughter Rochelle. Kevin, who has followed in his father's footsteps and is serving in the United States Army, has three children: Kevin Jr., and daughters, Janelle and Jacobi. Their daughter, Mrs. Rochelle Connor, who serves in the United States Marine Corps Reserves, is married to Minister Maurice Conner and they have five children: Alisha, LaKenya, Nyesha, Rachelle and Joseph.
Superintendent Robinson has a heart for souls and a love for God’s people. New Covenant Ministries, under the leadership of Superintendent Robinson, has helped many men, women and children give their lives to Christ. His motto is "He that winneth souls is wise." Proverbs 11:30.
